Being a responsible procurement consulting firm is a corporate goal, and we have a board sponsored initiative to ensure that this aspiration is also a reality. There are many exciting things happening in and around our business, most of which are suggested by, and led by our people. You can read more about that here.
Our responsible business program is run by a team of Proximites who are equally passionate and want to drive change within Proxima and impact society positively where we can. The team has created a “community of practice” that any Proximite can join, meeting regularly to discuss what we are doing in Proxima and learn and share examples of what is happening outside of our business.
The team has also developed a responsible business strategy that outlines the business that we want to be and our wider sustainability objectives in recognition of our role in society. We are committed to measuring our performance against five UN Sustainable Development Goals’ that most closely align with our business:
- SDG 3 – Good health
- SDG 4 – Quality education
- SDG 5 – Gender equality
- SDG 8 – Good jobs and economic growth
- SDG 12 – Responsible consumption
There are lots of initiatives happening around our procurement consulting firm in relation to the SDGs and other partnerships with communities, charities, and social enterprises. These include our current Charity partnerships with Mind and My Block My Hood My City. As well as doing all sorts of things to raise money, we also offer a volunteer time matching scheme so that our team can help out without missing out.
We also advise businesses on responsible sourcing and sustainability and have helped many organizations create strategies and drive their own change. This work is provided pro bono, helping smaller organizations make big changes through what we do best.
