‘Proxima with purpose’ ensures we operate in a way that positively and responsibly impacts society, the economy and the environment

‘Proxima with purpose’ is just one element of our responsible business strategy: a framework outlining the business we want to be and how we will get there. It addresses our vision for the future of sustainability, recognizing our role in society and how we will create opportunities that advance our employees and clients, along with our wider environment and society.

This initiative is driven by a passionate team of employees who are part of a sustainability ‘community of practice.’ Collectively they assess and look for ways to build this approach into the fabric of Proxima.

‘Proxima with purpose’ directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. We are committed to supporting these goals and focus on measuring our performance against six priority goals that most closely align with our business.

Specifically, we are assessing our performance against these six UN Sustainable Development Goals:

  • SDG 3: Good health – to take care of our people, their health and wellbeing
  • SDG 4: Quality education – to create education opportunities for our people and partners
  • SDG 5: Gender equality – to build an inclusive culture and break down barriers
  • SDG 8: Good jobs and economic growth – to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth
  • SDG 12: Responsible consumption – to help we ensure we live and thrive for generations to come
  • SDG 13: Climate action – to move to net-zero

We have put in place a number of initiatives to support the UNSDG 8: good jobs and economic growth, this includes our Living Wage accreditation for all employees and supply chain, partnerships with Social Enterprises for key business services.


Joining Proxima is an opportunity to work with and learn from a great team. In addition to ‘on the job’ training, we offer structured learning programs within procurement and consulting. There is also a buddy scheme to support new joiners and a mentoring scheme for everyone. We also offer support towards professional qualifications and our ‘X-Fund’ additional training Investment scheme.
