Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Our DEI agenda is created and driven by our people and sponsored at board level by our Chief People Officer. In January 2022, we launched our DEI Framework which contains the base building blocks to ensure we become a more diverse and equitable business. Within the framework are 22 initiatives, focusing on 4 central pillars of Attraction, Development, Culture and Commitment. Our framework is ever evolving and progress towards these initiatives is governed by a global DEI Committee and monitored at board level.
Gender Equality Network
The Gender Equality Network aims to champion equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender, and is an open group where we can all share experiences and support each other’s personal and professional growth. A small employee-led committee drives the agenda and facilitates frequent company-wide events. These events have ranged from external speaker talks, to panel discussions, and facilitated small group conversations.Read more
Committee on Racial Equality
The Committee on Racial Equality’s primary objective is to provide a supportive, safe and collaborative environment for our employees to share and discuss their experiences, thoughts and ideas related to race and ethnicity equality. A small employee-led committee drives the agenda and facilitates company-wide events to help promote discussion and education around a variety of relevant topics.
Giving Back to the Community
At Proxima we understand how important it is that we play an active part in supporting our local communities and helping those less fortune than ourselves. Volunteering with a charity can have a real impact on the lives of individuals in the local community and help a charity achieve its goals. All our employees receive 8 hours of paid volunteer leave per year, plus the ability to take an additional 2 days of paid volunteer leave through our time matching scheme.
As well as volunteering, we partner with a UK and US charity to focus our support and fundraising initiatives towards, led by our employee-run Charity Committee. The charity partnerships are selected through an employee-led charity nomination and vote, and are rotated on a bi-annual basis. Our current charity partners are My Block, My Hood, My City based in Chicago, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
In addition to optional benefits like health care and gym membership subsidies, we also have a Proxima wellbeing program offering support to all our employees. Our Intranet pages offer a range of resources and our “wellbeing champions” and Community of Interest provide support and arrange a variety of talks and events.
We encourage our people to have a work and a home life. Our flexible working model is there to support and get the best from each other professionally and socially. With a “new normal” upon us, we also provide a range of tailored support for home working including financial support for equipment, training and social events.
The Reconnect program offers mentoring and support for colleagues who are returning to work after periods of absence. This is most commonly used following paternity, maternity or shared parental leave, as well as returning after long term sickness.

We pride ourselves on the culture at Proxima; professional, inclusive and fun. All our locations have a social team that arrange various physical and virtual events to build community amongst our people. These range from formal events and activities through to the informal “Meetup” app designed to connect Proxima staff on the road in nearby locations.
