First of all ensure you’ve looked at and read other sections of our website as well as the careers section so you understand the kind of organisation we are, what we do and the types of roles our people undertake.
Check our current vacancies and click the search button in the ‘search openings’ section to see our current open jobs. Click the job title to read about it and decide which one may best fit your skills.
Applying
If you see a job you are interested in click on the ‘apply for this position’ button and complete our simple on-line information form.
Ensure you understand the job and what it requires in terms of key skills and experience. Read our CV Tips section and make sure you tailor your application.
The form asks you to give us some personal information such as your name, contact details and e-mail address which we do need to process your application. Some fields are not mandatory but fill in as much information as you can as it helps us deal with your application.
We also ask for you to register to allow us to contact you in future. Ideally please use a personal e-mail address rather than a work e-mail address as your primary contact as we may contact you again in the future.
In the additional information section please tell us which spend categories you have had significant experience of i.e. those you would feel confident in procuring again in the future. We recruit for generalist roles as well as specialist ones so only tick directly relevant lines. If you are not applying for a procurement role tick the ‘no indirect spend experience’ line.
Finally at the end of the form you have the opportunity to attach your CV and also a covering letter if you so wish. These can be in Word or Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format.
If there is nothing that suits what you are looking for right now, but feel you have skills that we would be interested in, please still apply by submitting your details to the ‘speculative applications’ vacancy which appears in the search openings list.
You should receive an acknowledgement of your application within 24 hours
We will endeavour to get back to you within 10 days with our decision and next steps. If you have not heard back within three weeks please assume you have not been successful on this occasion.
Our interview process
If invited to interview you will normally undergo a two stage selection process which normally takes around 3-4 weeks to complete.
The first stage consists of separate competency and technical interviews. The competency interview probes how you do things and the behaviours you use. The technical interview covers your procurement knowledge and the processes and tools you use.
The second stage is normally a case study where you will be given a ‘real life client scenario’ and given time to prepare a short presentation on how you would tackle it.
At each stage we aim to give you a decision as to the next steps within 4-5 working days or as soon as possible thereafter.
